Four Gonabadi Dervishes are indicted by Sarvestan, Fars’s prosecuting attorney to court

Ten months after the remonstrant gathering of Gonabadi dervishes in front of the governor’s office in Sarvestan, four dervishes are indicted by Sarvestan’s prosecuting attorney on the charge of unsettling the public’s discipline.

According to Majzooban-e-Noor reporter, these four dervishes coming by the names Farzad Darvish, Mohammad Ali Saeedi, Mohammad Jalal Nikbakht, and Hojjatollah Saeedi must introduce themselves to branch one of Public Court at 9 a.m. on June 15, 2011 to defend against their charges.

It should be mentioned that on August 2, 2010, an insulting exhibition was held in Sarvestan against dervishism and mysticism. That exhibition was not only against the law of religious freedom, but also the holders wanted to intrigue dervishes’ feelings and faith to their beliefs.

To complain of that, dervishes referred to the police, but did not receive any answer from them. Therefore, dervishes remonstrated in front of the governor’s office in Sarvestan.

In the event the security forces in plain clothes started breaking the governor’s office glasses and setting fire on the tents of the exhibition to throw dervishes into a turmoil which finally after indicting 24 dervishes and interrogating them frequently and arresting 5 of them and keeping Mr. Hadi Rahmani, a dervish, in custody for 90 days, the solicitor general of that branch Mr. Asadi, abandoning their legal pursuit. This sentence soon was changed by the order of attorney general Mr. hadi Taheri for the pressure of security forces, the governor, and the local clergy of the city to indict 4 dervishes on the charge of unsettling the public’s discipline.
