Iran’s envoy to the UN atomic watchdog says a high-level delegation from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is to visit Iran on January 29-31 to discuss issues over Tehran’s nuclear program.
Fars news agency quoted Ali Ashgar Soltanieh as saying the delegation, to be led by IAEA Deputy Director General Herman Nackaerts, will “negotiate and discuss questions raised by the IAEA.”
He said the three-day visit was “a new sign of the transparency in Iran’s nuclear program.”
The IAEA wants Iran to address mounting concerns that it may be trying to develop nuclear weapons capability, which Tehran denies.
