Railway engine drivers in northeastern Iran have gone on strike to protest work conditions, causing a disruption in train service. The Mardomsalari daily reports that the strike has led to many hours-long delays in the past week.

Some drivers reportedly have left their trains in between stops, tying up the tracks for hours. Railway administrators have reportedly been forced to send alternative drivers to get the abandoned trains moving.

The report indicates that several complaints from passengers have not been addressed by management.
