IAEA Wraps Up Talks In Iran, No Sign Of Breakthrough
A visiting delegation from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has wrapped up several days of talks with Iranian officials with no sign of a breakthrough in tensions over Iran’s nuclear program.

Neither Iranian media nor the IAEA team has revealed the substance of the talks.

Ahead of the inspectors’ visit, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said the “onus is on Iran…to prove themselves that their nuclear development program is genuinely for peaceful purposes, which they have not yet done.”

Iran’s Fars news agency said the talks had been “constructive,” while the ISNA said the IAEA team “did not visit any of the nuclear centers and facilities” in Iran.

Iranian media said the two sides agreed to hold further talks but did not give a date.

The IAEA officials were expected to return to the agency’s headquarters in Vienna early on February 1.

The IAEA accused Tehran in a report last year of activities “specific to nuclear weapons.”

Iran maintains its nuclear program is entirely peaceful.
