Merits of Tasbih of Bibi Fateme Zehra (a.s)
Fazeelat of reciting Tasbeeh of Hazrat Zahra (s.a.)
Allahu Akbar – 34 times, Alhamdulillah – 33 times and Subhanallah – 33 times.
This is what we call the Tasbeeh of Sayeda Fatima(a.s.) .
The Tasbeeh of Hazrat Fatima Zahra (s.a.) is from the emphatically recommended acts of worship in the Islamic Shariat. It has immense significance in the eyes of the infallible Imams (a.s.) and the Shiite jurists. It is a simple act of worship from the aspect of performance; however, its effect, reward and merit are abundant. This can be gauged from the fact that when the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) wished to impart this act of worship to his daughter Janabe Zahra (s.a.), he declared,
‘O Fatima! I have granted you something that is superior to a maidservant and to the world and everything in it.’ (Aasaar o Asraare Tasbeehe Zahra (s.a.) , Pg. 7)
In this context Imam Muhammad Baqir (a.s.) informs, ‘Allah is not worshipped by anything more meritorious than the Tasbeeh of Fatima Zahra (s.a.). Had there been any worship superior to it, most surely the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) would have granted it to Janabe Fatima (s.a.).’ (Wasaaelush Shia , Vol 4 Pg. 1024)
Imam Jafar Sadiq (as) says about the dearness of this Tasbeeh in the eyes of the Imams of the Ahlulbayt (a.s.):
“Reciting Tasbeeh of Hazrat Zahra (s.a.) everyday after every Namaz is liked by me more than reciting one thousand rakats of (mustahab) namaz”. (Al-Kafi, Kitabus Salaat)
Reciting this Tasbeeh results in forgiveness of sins. In a tradition , Imam Mohammad Baqir (as) says:
“One who recites the Tasbeeh of Hazrat Zahra (s.a.) and then seeks forgiveness, will be forgiven”. (Wasaaelush Shia Vol 4, Pg. 1023)
It also results in driving Shaitan away and in the satisfaction of Allah as tradition from Imam Mohammad Baqir (a.s.) says:“(Reciting Tasbeeh) drives away Shaitan and makes results in the satisfaction of Allah”. (Wasaaelush Shia Vol 4, Pg. 1023)
Reciting Tasbeeh regularly delivers the reciter from adversities in this world as well as the hereafter. One of the graceful effects of the regular recitation of the Tasbeeh of Hazrat Zahra (s.a.) is that it delivers the reciter from adversities and hardships in this world as well as the hereafter. Thus one should not ignore its benefits and effects and should not be careless and lazy in its recitation
In this connection, Imam Jafar Sadiq (as) says to one of his companions :
“ You do adhere to it and be regular about its recitation, for surely one who is steadfast upon its recitation will not encounter adversity.” (Al-Kafi, Kitabus Salaat, Pg. 343)
How to recite Tasbeeh of Hazrat Zahra (s.a.):
According to a tradition from Imam Jafar Sadiq, one should recite Allaho Akbar 34 times, Alhamdolillah 33 times and Subhaanallah 33 times. (Behaarul Anwaar Vol 85, Pg. 334)
Reciting Tasbeeh immediately after Namaz
Tasbeeh of Hazrat Zahra (s.a.) should be recited immediately on completion of Namaz. This entails that as soon as the reciter has finished the Namaz, he should remain seated in the same position of Tashahud without moving his feet and doing any other thing, immediately he should commence the recitation of the Tasbeeh. The reciting of Tasbeeh immediately on completion of Namaz has a special excellence, which is not there otherwise.
The above statement can be evidenced by the following tradition of Imam Jafar Sadiq (as) wherein he states: “One who recites the Tasbeeh of Hazrat Zahra (s.a.) before even moving his feet, Allah will forgive him..” (At-Tahzeeb of Shaikh Toosi (r.a.) , Vol 2, Pg. 105)
Imam Jafar Sadiq (as) has said :
“One who recites the Tasbeeh of Hazrat Zahra (s.a.) after a wajib namaz before he stretches out his legs ( i.e. he recites the Tasbeeh while he is in the posture of Tashahud) , then Jannat becomes wajib upon him” (Falaahus Saael by Ibne Taaoos (r.a.), Pg. 165)
Another tradition from Imam Sadiq (a.s.) says:
“One who glorifies Allah after the obligatory prayer through the Tasbeeh of Hazrat Zahra (s.a.), and then follows it up by saying ‘Laa elaaha illallaho’, Allah will forgive his sins.” (Al-Kafi, Kitabus Salaat, Pg. 342)
Reciting the Tasbeeh of Hazrat Zahra (s.a.) before sleeping
Imam Jafar Sadiq (as) says :
“One who recites the Tasbeeh of Hazrat Zahra (s.a.) at the time of going to bed, he will be accounted amongst those who have remembered Allah a lot.” (Wasaaelush Shia Vol 4, Pg. 1026)
In the book ‘Wasaaelush Shia’ there is a tradition from Imam Mohammad Baqir (as) which says that at the time of going to bed, Tasbeeh of Hazrat Zahra (s.a.)and then Maoozatain (Surah Falaq and Surah Naas) and Ayatul Kursi should be recited.
Teaching the recitation of Tasbeeh to the children
In this connection, Imam Jafar Sadiq (as) says :
“ O Abu Haroon! We order our children to recite the Tasbeeh of Hazrat Zahra (s.a.)in the same manner as we order them for the performance of Namaz ” (Al-Kafi, Kitabus Salaat, Pg. 343)
Reciting Tasbeeh made out of the Turbah of grave of Imam Husain (a.s.)
It is better that the Tasbeeh of Hazrat Zahra (s.a.) be made of the pure Turbah (soil) of the grave of Imam Husain (a.s.)
It has been narrated from Imame Zamana (a.t.f.s.),
“ One who just holds the Tasbeeh made out of the soil of the grave of Imam Husain (as) and does not do any Zikr, even then for him will be written the reward of having recited the Azkaar” (Wasaaelush Shia Vol 4, Pg. 1033)
Imam Jafar Sadiq (as) says :
“One zikr or Isteghfaar recited on the Tasbeeh made out of the soil of the grave of Imam Husain (as) is equal to 70 such zikr recited on any other thing.” (Wasaaelush Shia Vol 4, Pg. 1033)
Some noteworthy points:
1. One of the conditions of worship, rather the most important of them all, is being attentive in its performance. This is specially so in the recitation of Tasbeeh of Hazrat Zahra (s.a.).
2. There should be continuity in the recitation of the Tasbeeh without any interruptions. This has been the practice of our holy Imams (a.s.) (Al- Kaafi, Kitaabus Salaat, Pg. 343 )
1. In case one has a doubt regarding the number of Azkaar that he has recited, then he should start again. This is according to a tradition from Imam Sadiq (a.s.) (Al- Kaafi, Kitaabus Salaat, Pg. 342 )
Thus, by the grace of Allah and the blessings of Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.) , we have come to realize the importance of reciting Tasbeeh of Hazrat Zahra (s.a.) and its merits. We pray to Allah to grant us the Taufeeq that we may be regular in its recitation.

BIRTHDAY OF HAZRAT ZAHRA (peace be upon her)
Hazrat Fatemeh Zahra (peace be upon her) the honorable daughter of prophet of Islam was born on 20th Jamadiolsani, the fifth year after announcement of prophecy. She grew in the house of prophet. She was a youth enjoying all the human attainment and a lady at the highest ranks of purity and deservedness. She was the purest mother, memory of the centuries can ever remember. The whole great innocence belongs to her and she is the great forgiver of man’s sins on the day of pandemonium.
Hazrat Fatemeh (p.b.u.h.) has been called in different narrations by the different names. Imam Sadegh (p.b.u.h.) prescribed: Fatemeh bears the names from part of Allah, Fatemeh, Alsedigheh, Almobarakeh, Altahereh, Alzakieh, Alrezieh, Almarzieh, Almohadeseh, Alzahra.” Hazrat Fatemeh has nine names including: Fatemeh, Sedigheh, Mobarakeh, Tahereh, Zakieh, Razieh, Marzieh, Mohadaseh, Zahra.
We seize the opportunity to mention some of the names and to explain a little about them.
FATEMEH: considering what Imam Sadegh and Imam Reza told, Hazrat Fatemeh was called this way because she was separated from all evil, or bad, all negative points and there is no black point in her life. Fire has been prohibited from she and her true followers (Shiite).
ZAHRA: having derived from the word: ZOHOUR, meaning brightness. Zahra means bright, shiny.
Ibn Abbas, one of the prophets of God (peace be upon him) has narrated: “my daughter, FATEMEH, when she stands against God to worship, her light will throw at the angels at the sky, just as light of stars throws at the people on the earth.”
Imam Sadegh (p.b.u.h.) was asked about the name of Zahra, he said: “know that daughter of prophet of Islam was named ZAHRA because God created her out of His own glory.”
SEDIGHEH: it means very honest, one who is pure truth, has never lied, and has fulfilled honesty in her acts. What God prescribed and ordered His prophets confirms the same. In what the prophets were inspired by God, no doubt will occur. God confirmed the same fact in a verse.
The narrations show that the rank of the honest is the same as the rank of the prophets and martyrs, for whom a special grade and account shall be considered.
In a prescription to Hazrat Ali, prophet called honest Hazrat Fatemeh (p.b.u.h.) and she was truly rightful.
MOBARAKEH: it is derived from the word: bounty, meaning growth, prosperity, increase, where divine consciousness can not be measured, counted, limited, and kept and whoever looks at it, might feel abundant increase, so it is bounty. Almighty God granted all sorts of bounty to Fatemeh Zahra (p.b.u.h.) and granted to her generation of prophet of God.
TAHEREH: This glorious name indicates to purity, sacredness, spirituality and the sacred verse: pure confirms the same thing.
MOHADASEH: It has been narrated from the sixth innocent Imam (p.b.u.h.) when he prescribed: FATEMEH was called MOHADASEH because the angels of sky came down to talk to her as they called Maryam, daughter of Omran. The sky’s angles told to Fatemeh Zahra (p.b.u.h.): “Oh! Fatemeh! God has selected you and has purified you and has granted to you a higher rank, than the women at both worlds.” Also, the narrations about Moshaf Fatemieh indicate the facts that Gabriel came down to land to meet Hazrat Zahra and told her about some realities and some accidents which were going to happen in future and Ali (p.b.u.h.) was writing them down.
FATEMEH in Quran:
Many facts have been told about glory and high rank of sacred daughter of prophet and many beautiful stories and speeches can be sought in Quran about her personality. In quran, Fatemeh is the meaning and definition of sacred sura: Kosar and as we mentioned, she is a clear evidence of sacred verse of Tathir (purification). Among the great figures mentioned in the sacred verse, when the Christians were not convinced about the verse related to Jesus and prophet suggested to them the solution of Mobaheleh (as he was inspired). (Sura: Al Emran, verses 60/61) the next morning, the high ranked board of Najran observed out of Medina that prophet of God accompanied by his daughter, his son in law, two grand children went for Mobaheleh, the arch bishop found out greatness of this family and requested that they were exempted from mobaheleh.
He is one of the great characteristics mentioned in sacred verse: Ghorbi. When Fatemeh prayed for recovery of Hassan and Hossein (p.b.u.h.) to be on fast for three days, after the children were better and her praying was fulfilled, she gave her food for three days to the poor people who were referring to her house. In the fourth day, when prophet of God watched her, the angle read to them the beginning verses of sura: Hal Ata.
Considering the descriptions of Hazrat Zahra and her life, her life is a comprehensive culture for prosperity and approximation to God. in the end, we present to the honorable readers a narration of Hazrat Zahra (p.b.u.h.)
“One who sends to God her pure worships, God will send to him/her His greatest benefits.”

martyrdom of Hazrat Fatemeh Zahra (peace be upon her)
IN THE NAME OF GOD
Condolence on all the Muslims of the World on the occasion of martyrdom of Hazrat Fatemeh Zahra (peace be upon her)
Sacred being of Hazrat Fatemeh Zahra (peace be upon her) serves as a treasury of numerous attainment some of which have been counted by Almighty God in the verses of holy Koran. Believing in the verses to the extent of virtue and prestige of Hazrat Fatemeh (p.b.u.h.) is not limited to the Shiite, but the Sunni brothers and knowledgeable men have confirmed the same claim many times.
For example, the great Sunni interpreter, Fakhre Razi interprets sura: Kosar and writes: Kosar means the children of prophet (p.b.u.h.), because this sura came in reply to those who were considering it as a fault that prophet had no child. Kosar means that Almighty God consoles holy prophet promising him that his generation shall continue throughout the time. Look! How many of the relatives of prophet were killed innocently while still the world is filled with them, but none has remained of the children of Omayeh. So, look! How great men of thought and connoisseurs have risen like, Imam Bagher, Imam Sadegh, Imam Kazem, Imam Reza (p.b.u.h.) out of descendents of holy prophet. 1
From the verses on prestige and rank of Hazrat Zahra (p.b.u.h.) and his honorable husband, Amir Almomenin Ali (p.b.u.h.) and their children, Imam Hassan and Imam Hossein (p.b.u.h.). verses: 8 & 9, sura: Ensan (Dahr), verse: 61, sura: Ale Emran (verse: Mobaleheh), verse: 33, sura: Ahzab (verse: Tathir), verse: 23 sura: Shora, verse: 37, Sura: Baghareh might be mentioned, confirmed by both parties of the Shiite and Sunni.
The virtues of Hazrat Sedigheh Kobra (p.b.u.h.) mentioned by holy prophet (p.b.u.h.), not just because Fatemeh was his daughter- because if it was true, prophet had to mention the same things about his other daughters, Zeynab, Ome Kolsoom, or even his sons Ghasem, Abdollah, Ibrahim, but, he did not do it. But, he did it only for deservedness and high and unique rank of Fatemeh (p.b.u.h.) with Almighty God which made the prophet mention a part of high rank of that lady, not only on his behalf, but on behalf of Almighty God; because the tongue of prophet is the tongue of inspiration and Koran. As interpreted by Koran, he will never speak through his self wish. His speeches are nothing but inspirations of God. (Sura: Najm, verse: 3 & 4)
It is worthy to mention some narrations confirmed both by Shiite and Sunni, out of the resources of Sunnis.
Ahmand ibn Hanbal, the religious leader of Hanbali party narrates in his deeds that prophet told to Ali (p.b.u.h.), Fatemeh (p.b.u.h.), Hassan (p.b.u.h.), Hossein (p.b.u.h.) and prescribed: “ I fight with whomever is fighting with you and I am in peace with whomever is in peace with you. 2
Bokhari, the famous narrator of Sunni, narrates from the prophet: Fatemeh is a piece of my body. Whomever makes her furious, has made me furious. 3
The governor of Neishabour and a group of other Sunni men of thought, narrate a very important and strange event from prophet of God when he prescribed: “ Fatemeh! Indeed, God shall be furious if you are angry and is agreed, if you agree.4
The narrations mean that bothering Fatemeh (p.b.u.h.) serves as bothering prophet himself and making her angry serves as making prophet angry, because Fatemeh is a piece of body of prophet and since bothering prophet of God serves as bothering God, so, if Fatemeh is furious, God shall be furious and if she is satisfied, God is satisfied and we shall request God to forgive us if prophet of God is annoyed. Because God prescribes in holy Koran: those who annoy God and His prophet, shall be cursed by God in the world and in the aftermath and they shall lose God’s grace and God shall impose on them miseries. (sura: Ahzab, verse: 57)
Holy prophet (p.b.u.h.) prescribes: On the day of pandemonium preacher calls: “Oh! You who enter the bedlam, close your eyes and keep down your heads, because Fatemeh (p.b.u.h.) daughter of Mohammad is going to pass the bridge. 5
It has also been quoted: “The first person who shall enter the paradise, is Fatemeh daughter of Mohammad (p.b.u.h.) 6.
My daughter, Fatemeh (p.b.u.h.) accompanied by her children and Shiite shall enter the paradise and considering them, God prescribes: the fear and panic of pandemonium never makes them sad and they shall enjoy eternally the graces. Oath to God! She is Fatemeh, her children and the Shiite. 7
Indeed! Descendants of Fatemeh Zahra (p.b.u.h.) i.e. the pure elatives of prophet and the pure Shiite who follow that sacred path and her children are all possessing a high rank. Not everybody who can be attributed to the generation of Fatemeh, but his morals and deeds are against her, nor one who thinks that he is Shiite but in practice he does not follow the path of the family of prophet.
Prophet (p.b.u.h.) prescribes: She was named: FATEMEH, because God has kept her and her children and her friends away from the fire. 8
This is the grace of God which He grants to everyone He wishes and God holds the endless and wide grace and is aware of the status of all the people who deserve it. (sura: Maedeh, verse: 54)
