According to the report, three members of the Kurdish Green Association, Akbar Gavili, Veria Khosravi and Kamram Rahimi, were charged by the Revolutionary Court presided over by Judge Hassan Babaai, with actions against the national interest and contacts with opposition parties.

Khosravi was sentenced to four years in prison, Gavili to two years and Rahimi to three years. The three environmental activists were arrested six months ago by the Intelligence Ministry.

The Revolutionary Court in Tarbiz sentenced Daoud Shiri, an environmental activist who protested against drying Lake Orumiyeh, to four months imprisonment on charges of unlawful assembly.

Last Saturday, agents from the Ministry of Intelligence arrested Habib Halfi in his home. A political activist and member of Iran’s Arab minority, Halfi was released from prison a few months ago after serving a two years. There is no information on his whereabouts or the reason for his arrest. His brother, Ali Halfi, is a political prisoner who was sentenced to 30 years imprisonment in exile and is serving time in Gonabad prison.
