Jailed Gonabadi Dervishes’s Families Met With Director General Of The Central Prison In Shiraz

 

 

This morning on Mordad 24 , 1391 (Aug 14 , 2012), families of jailed dervishes (who have been held in Shiraz Adel Abad prison), could meet with the Director general of the Central Prison in Shiraz and they complained ofdeteriorated health condition of this prison to the official .

According to Majzooban reporter, lack of health care to prisoner dervishes in Adel Abad prison, made The families of these Prisoners of conscience to protest against this situation to Mr.Mousa Ahmadi, Director general of the Central Prison in Shiraz.

At this meeting, the families of these prisoners of conscience by referring to poor health and nutritional status, poor physical health of jailed dervishes and also lack of medical facilities, stated that these conditions are not in accordance with the characteristics of a “prison in the Islamic country” and also this conditions would be far away from “human dignity”.

They also called for running regulations for separation of prisoners based on the charge.

They expressed their objection and said that, holding Gonabadi dervishes and prisoners of conscience in the unit where dangerous criminals (murderers, rapists, etc) are incarcerated is absolutely against the law.

Better health care and nutrition status and allow fresh air and access to cultural activities for prisoners of conscience, was also wanted by the families’s prisoners at this meeting.

Mr Mousa Ahmadi, Director General of the Central Prison in Shiraz, in response, Promised to follow-up the status of prisoners too.

It is remarkable that, now, three Gonabadi dervishes, Messrs.Saleh Moradi Sarvestani, Mohammad ali Shamshirzan and Kasra Nouri are held in Shiraz Adel Abad prison.

Saleh Moradi has been confined in Adel Abad prison more than 11 months and he is suffering from kidney disease and dire health and has repeatedly asked authorities to be sent to the hospital for examination by a specialist but his efforts were ineffective up to now.

Also, Kasra Nouri who has been held in prison for 5 months, due to poor sanitary conditions in prison, is suffering of respiratory illness.
