Failed Implementation of Targeted Subsidies Programs Renders Bakers in Esfahan Province Unemployed

In an interview with ILNA, the President of the Labor Association in Esfahan Province, Ali Yazdani claimed that bakers in Esfahan Province have been rendered unemployed as a result of the inadequate and failed implementation of targeted subsidy programs adding: ” Bakery workers in Esfahan province face financial hardships for their current wages do not cover their cost of living.”

While pointing to the negative impact of the failed targeted subsidy programs on the lives of laborers Yazani stated: “The sudden price increases resulting from the failed subsidies program have decreased the people’s purchasing power, leading to lower demand for everyday essentials such as bread. As a result of the current situation many bakery workers have seen decreases in their wages and many employers have been forced to decrease their work force.”

In conclusion Yazdani criticized the influx of bread supply by bakeries without legal permits adding that this supply has been harmful to the workers in the industry.
