Preparations for widespread executions, phones disconnected for four days in Gohardasht Prison

 

 

 

 

 

 

Based on reports obtained by the Human Rights and Democracy Activists in Iran in Gohardasht Prison in Karaj, west of Tehran all telephone lines used by ordinary prisoners to contact their families have been disconnected for the past four days.

Families of ordinary prisoners have had no information about their loved ones from Friday onward. These prisoners have also been deprived of visits by their family members. On the other hand, from public remarks made by regime officials such as Mullah Sadegh Larijani, head of Iran’s judiciary, are described as attempts to justify widespread crackdown. According to recent reports from Ghezzel Hessar, Gohardasht and other facilities, the regime intends to execute many prisoners during the Christmas holidays until January.
