The family of imprisoned Gonabadi Dervish, Kasra Nouri who were unaware of his condition in jail for 20 days, could visit him yesterday.
According to Majzooban Noor, yesterday on 29th of Khordad 1392 (Jun 19, 2013) the family of this Dervish rights activist in the presence of security guards and under tight security had a short visit with him in Shiraz’s AdelAbad prison. His mental health is described good. It was the first time they had visit each other since AdelAbad prison guards transferred Kasra Nouri into solitary confinement with no reason.
It should be noted that, Kasra Nouri who is being held in Shiraz AdelAbad prison was transferred into solitary confinement by AdelAbad prison guards with no explanation from 20 days ago and he is currently confined in section Ebrat ( the ward of prisoners of conscience and other minority religions) and has been denied visitation rights and telephone contact with his family. The Iranian judicial authorities have refused to answer his family’s questions about these such restrictions on jailed Dervishes.
“Previously, the judicial authorities stated that these restrictions are due to the upcoming the Eleventh Presidential Elections in Iran but now, a week after the election, why should Kasra Nouri be no more visitations allowed??” Kasra Nouri’s family said to Majzooban Noor.
So far he has spent more than 18 months in Shiraz’s AdelAbad prison. It is reminded that, Kasra Nouri and one other Dervish, Saleh Moradi had been protesting with a hunger strike against the illegal transfer of their Dervish lawyers to solitary confinement in Tehran’s Evin prison for 90 days and after their demands are met, they ended their prolong-term hunger strike.
