The head of the Environmental Affairs Committee of Iranian Parliament has warned about a new wave of cancer caused by air pollution particles.
The Mehr News Agency reports that committee officials have raised alarms about the effects of these air particles on the health of the public, adding that the Environment Organization needs to be provided with the necessary resources to address this problem and counter it in the best possible way.
The report adds that the new budget for the Environment Organization has been cut.
The report calls for an increased budget as well as targeted programs and plans to address the environmental issues at stake.
