Gonabadi Dervishes imprisoned in Adel-Abad prison are holding a mourning ceremony for Imam Hussein from the first night of Muharram every night 10pm – 2am at the prison.
According to Majzooban Noor, by the beginning of the month of Muharram, jailed Gonabadi Dervishes in the “Ebrat Ward” for prisoners of conscience in Shiraz’s Adel-Abad prison, Messrs. Mohsen Esmaeeli, Seyed Ebrahim Bahrami, Mohammad Ali Sadeghi, Mohammad Ali Dehghan and Kasra Nouri hold Husseini mourning ceremonies 10pm-2am every night which is attended by the prison staff.
Kasra Nouri, the Gonabadi dervishes’ rights activists has been sentenced to four years and four months imprisonment on charge of belonging to a deviant group “Majzooban Noor” and four other Dervish prisoners residents of Kavar town in Fars province are being held in Shiraz Adel-Abad prison without judgment.
The four Dervishes who were charged with “the formation of terrorist group against the regime,” “participating in the gatherings with the aim of overthrowing the Islamic Republic,” “Moharebeh (“enmity against the God”) and “carrying illegal weapons” have been in temporary detention for more than 22 months.
Also, recently, three other Dervishes from the city of Kavar, named Kazem Dehghan, Hamid-Reza Arayesh and Mohammad-Ali Shamshir-zan have been sentenced to a lifetime without parole. This sentence was issued by the Revolutionary Court in Shiraz. The dervishes were accused of waging war against God, membership in illegal dervish groups and encouraging disturbances to national security.
