Keeping Dervishes in Undecided Situation at Adel-Abad Prison Without Trial for 9 Months

The trial of four Gonabadi Dervishes held in Ebrat ward of Shiraz’s Adel-Abad prison who are in undecided situation has been postponed for a second time.
According to Majzooban Noor, Messrs. Mohsen Esmaeeli, Seyed Ebrahim Bahrami, Mohammad Ali Sadeghi and Mohammad Ali Dehghan who were charged with “the formation of terrorist group against the regime,” “participating in the gatherings with the aim of overthrowing the Islamic Republic,” “Moharebeh (“enmity against the God”) and “carrying illegal weapons” have been in temporary detention for 9 months as the trial judge has extended their detention period for the fourth time.
Their trial has been postponed due to the absence of the judge on the Revolutionary Court in Shiraz on 2 Mehr and 17 Dey 1392 (Sep 24, 2013 and Jan 7, 2014).

The mentioned Dervishes were arrested in the city of Kavar on 10 Ordibehesht 1392 (April 30 2013) after the attacks against Nematollahi Gonabadi Dervishes in Kavar by men posing as Basijis and religious extremists on 13 , Shahrivar 1390 (September 4, 2011). Although they are deprived of the minimum rights for prisoners that are included in Iran’s constitution.
