A large number of Gonabadi Dervishes from Iran’s Southern Provinces, such as Ahvaz, Abadan Khrram-Shahr, Andimeshk, Hendijan, Shoushtat, Assalouyeh, Bandar-Abbas and alsi from Shahrekord, Arak and Khrram-Abad in a letter addressed to the Jailed Gonabadi Dervishes, urge them to break hunger strike.
In the latter they have expressed grave concerns for the situation and health condition of imprisoned Gonabadi Dervishes on hunger strike.

It should be noted that, 10 imprisoned Dervishes in Evin, Rajaei-Shahr, Shiraz’s Nezam prisons and the central prison of Bandar-Abbas are still on hunger strike. Also, they have been refusing to go to visiting halls and since last week have not met with any visitors. Jailed Gonabadi Dervishes Farshid Yadollahi and Reza Entesari avoided going to the visit room in Rajaei-Shahr Prison on Wednesday, Esfand, the 21st (March, the 12th) as well as Kasra Nouri, in Fars’s Nezam Prison and also Hamid Reza Moradi, Mostafa Daneshjoo, Amir Eslami, Afshin Karampour, Omid Behroozi, and Mostafa Abdi refused to go to visiting halls on Sunday and Monday respectively.
They are calling for the return of their exiled peers Farshid Yadollahi and Reza Entesari and Saeed Madani ( who have been illegally exiled) back to Evin Prison. They are also asking for medical treatment for the sick dervishes in jail.

It is worth noting that following the start of Dervishes hunger strike, more than 3000 Gonabadi Dervishes joined the strike in support of their imprisoned brothers’ demands. Also they had a rally on Saturday and Sunday in front of the Tehran’s Prosecutor office. Although their protest was confronted by violent reactions of the security and special guard forces, they are still waiting for authorities to fulfill their promises.
