Daravish-Momeni-Hossein-Karroubi

The son of Mehdi Karruobi, Moammad Hossein Karruobi met with imprisoned Gonabadi Dervish lawyers, Hamid Reza Moradi, Mostafa Daneshjou and Afshin Karampour who have been transferred from the prison to Shohada eTajrish Hospital due to their ill health.
As reported by Saham, in this meeting Mohammad Hossein Karroubi said “My father always asks about the green movement prisoners’ conditions in our meetings” and then proceeded to say “He is proud of sufis’ support during elections and admires their perseverance, unity, and solidarity in the face of pressures exerted in recent years which are particularly a consequence of their active involvement in 1388 (2009) elections.”
Also, imprisoned Gonabadi Dervishes told him about the poor conditions of the Dervishes were being held in Evin, Rajaei-Shahr, Adel-Abad, etc prisons and the restrictions imposed on the Sheikhs of the sufi order. They also appreciated Mr. Karroubi’s efforts to defend Dervishes’ rights and his commitment to what he had promised the nation and his supporters.
During recent years, Mehdi Karroubi had reacted to the pressures which imposed on Dervishes that have been brought under on a number of occasions prior to his imprisonment. Some examples are his objections to the invasion and destruction of Dervishes’s worship-places (Hosseiniyeh) in Qom and Boroojerd and his letter to the Minister of Intelligence objecting to frequent Dervishes’ arrests.
Because of his support and empathy with them, Sufis from different orders, especially Gonabadi, actively supported him in the 1388 (2009) elections, and many of them were arrested and put behind bars during the events following the elections.
The imprisoned Dervish lawyers expressed hope for the quick release of the leaders of the green movement and all of political prisoners. Abdollah Mo’meni and Ali Khoda-Bakhsh, who had been in prison together with the other imprisoned Dervishes until their recent release, accompanied Mohammad Hossein Karroubi in this meeting.
