Anwar Hosseinpanahi, Kurdish civil activist, has been beaten by intelligence agents at the door of his home on Wednesday August 20th.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Anwar Hosseinpanahi, former political prisoner who has been exiled to out of Kurdistan province was beaten by 3 intelligence agents at the door of his home. He was hospitalized afterwards.
“3 members of the intelligence office of Ghorve city attacked Anwar Hosseinpanahi at the door of his home in Tehran and beaten him and he is at the hospital now.” Said one of his family members
“They were hired by an agent named Ali and threatened him that he must have no further activities.” He added
Anwar Hosseinpanahi was arrested on November 6, 2007 and was kept at the intelligence office of Ghorve for 6 months.
He was charged with Muharebeh and sentenced to death by branch number 2 of the Revolutionary Court.
The sentence was reduced by branch number 4 of the appeal court of Kurdistan province on April 14, 2009.
He is living in exile out of Kurdistan province at the moment.
