Amir Eslami and Mostafa Abdi, two of the Gonabadi Dervish lawyers and rights activists in protest against illegal transfer of Gonabadi Dervishes to the non-political wards of Evin, the act of judicial system in preventing Dervishes from receiving the medical treatments, and also pressure on them to use the prison uniform; thus, refused to attend the visit hall.
According to a report by Majzooban Noor, Amir Eslami and Mostafa Abdi, who have been sentenced to seven years and half, and three years inprisonment, respectively, announced that “as long as the basic rights of our spiritual bothers imprisoned in non-political wards are not met, we also deprive ourselves of visit to our families to demonstrate our protest”.
It should be mentioned, due to the abrupt transfer of Afshin Karampour from the hospital to ward 4 of Evin that came into enforcement by the direct order of the prosecutor, Mr. Hamid-Reza Moradi and Mr. Mostafa Daneshjou, who were hospitalized in the same hospital demanded to have a self-discharge from the hospital to return to the prison; consequently, in the wake of this protest act, the prison officials have not transferred these two Dervishes to ward 350, they have been moved to an undisclosed location, instead.
Consecutive transfer of Dervishes to solitary confinement of information detentions for long periods, prohibition from visit to their family members, refusal to send them to medical centers due to the absurd reasons, and pressure on the Dervishes to put on the prison uniforms, trials in absentia, illegal arrests for long periods, before the formation of the trial, and imprisonment in the wards of financial and social sections, are only some instances of the pressures on Dervishes during these four years.
