Sunday August 27th, 2011 – Kaleme reports that a number of political prisoners were released from prison on the eve of Eide Fetr [Muslim holiday celebrating the end of Ramadan].

According to Kaleme, the following political prisoners were reportedly released from prison last night:

2.Laleh Hasanpour

3. Zahra Jabari

4. Keyvan Farzin

5. Amir Aslani

6. Mohsen Ghamin

7. Mohammad Pourabdollah

8. Arsalan Abadi

9. Nazanin Hassan Nia

10.Susan Tabiyanian

11. Akran Heydarian

12. Sama Shamloo

13. Fatemeh Darvish

14. Ali Behzadian Nejad

15. Hamid Reza Nojoumi

16. Abolfazl Ghasemi

17. Koroush Ghasemi

18. Artin Ghazanfari

19. Gholam Reza Azadi

20. Meysam Roudaki

21. Amir Hossein Ghanbari

22. Omid Sharifi Dana,

23. Behnam Ansari

24. Rouhollah Mirzakhani

25. Massoud Yazdchi

26. Mohsen Mokhtari

27. Sajad Moradi

Some of the aforementioned political prisoners such as Nazanin Hassan Nia were only weeks away from completing their prison sentences and were released a few weeks earlier than expected, while others such as Ehsan Abadeh Tabrizi who did not have a criminal record were afforded conditional release in accordance to Iranian law upon completion of half of their prison sentence.

The  names of  other political prisoners potentially released from prison will be published as more information becomes available in the next few days.
