Two teachers of the literature and electricity strands residents of Damghan, were banned from teaching by Semnan province’s department of education due to being Dervish.
Semnan’s Deputy Education has said that this order has been issued by the Harasat of the department of education (The Harasat is a unit in each Iranian organization that acts as an intelligence and security apparatus).
According to Majzooban Noor, Gonabadi Dervishes, Messrs. Ali-Reza Kashi and Bozorgmehr Hekmatshoar, who are teaching the literature and electricity courses respectively have been dismissed from their employment while the official of the Islamic Republic of Iran, specially, judicial authorities, have repeatedly said that no one in Iran has dismissed from government jobs or incarcerated for being a Dervish. And written reports from human rights organizations on the situation of dervishes who have been fired from their jobs, are pure lies.
Semnan’s Deputy Education in response to a follow-up on the prohibition of teaching by two mentioned teachers has stated that:” Harasat has given your names to us and said that they are Sufis so have no right to teach!”
It is worth mentioning that , the Iranian intelligence minster, Mahmoud Alavai, recently in a meeting held with presence of the heads of education of diverse parts of Iran, addressed that “this idea that students in term of thoughts and attitudes can move forward and go anywhere they wish to go, leads to be a Sufi or Dervish, or become infidel and go toward moral nihilism.” After that, 2000 of Dervishes who have taken part in the campaign called ” migration from Iran to Evin jail”, by releasing a letter to the information minister asked him if the concept of the term “Dervish” is synonymous with the term “heresy” in his eyes; so, all of these signers of this campaign will be ready to be arrested and imprisoned due to the protection of Islam by the order of the information minister. But their peaceful gathering was violently crushed by security forces.
