Opposition leaders MirHosein Mousavi and Zahra Rahnavard are no longer completely restricted from accessing information in the media, according to opposition sources.

The Kaleme website reported on Tuesday October 28: “Since a few days ago, after over three and a half years, the illegal ban on Mousavi and Rahnavard’s complete access to media has been eased, and now they can read two newspapers on a daily basis.”

MirHosein Mousavi and Zahra Rahnavard have been under house arrested since February of 2011 and have been completely cut off from the public and media since then. The establishment has accused them of sedition because of their allegations of vote fraud in the 2009 presidential election, but no formal charges have been laid against them.

Reformists have repeatedly called for their release, but so far the conservative factions of the Islamic Republic have resisted releasing them or putting them on public trial.
