It has been reported that Gonabadi dervish, Saleheddin Moradi Sarvestani who has been held for more than 16 months in Shiraz Adel Abad prison is in critical condition.

He has been suffering from kidney pain for months and now suffering from internal bleeding and also severe malnutrition. And up to now follow of his family to send him to the hospital, had no results.The only one time that he was sent to the hospital, without any medical examination for this prisoner of conscience, he was returned to prison.

This prisoner of conscience, even in a court session which was held on Monday, 11th Dey 1391 (Dec 31, 2012), in Branch 2 of Shiraz’s Revolutionary Court was not in good physical conditions so could not defend himself.

It is important to say that, the Judge, according to his poor physical conditions and 16 months confinement in Adel Abad prison without any court legal verdict, issued the bail warrant for his temporary release but this Gonabadi dervish rejects the Judge’s proposal and explained that: “So long, my brothers and my coteries are in jail for the same crime, I won’t consent to a “conditional release”! And this bail should be issued from the beginning of my arrest so I did not spend 16 months in prison.”

It should be noted that according to the prison regulations, as he had no previous history of these such diseases so the prison authorities will be responsible for the health of this prisoners of conscience.
