Messrs. Saleh Moradi and Kasra Nouri were forced to sign a letter stating that they have good physical health and they do not need any medical treatment and health care.

Yesterday morning on 15th of Bahman 1391(Feb 3, 2013), security forces and Adel Abad prison officials put pressure on Gonabad dervishes, Saleh Moradi and Kasra Nouri who have been on hunger strike since Dey 27 (Jan 15) to sign a letter stating that they do not have any physical health problems.

According to reports by Majzooban Noor, last week Mr. Mozaffari, the head of Shiraz’s Adel Abad prison visited jailed dervishes and discussed their hunger strike which have been started from three weeks ago and said the possible involvement of officials in the coming days.

After a few days, despite the poor physical conditions of dervishes, they were forced by the security forces and prison authorities to sign a letter stating that they have good physical health and they do not need any medical treatment and health care!

It is notable that, the two dervishes who are behind bars for more than 16 months in Shiraz’s Adel Abad prison , lunched the hunger strike to protest illegal transfer of seven Gonabadi dervishes’s lawyers and Majzooban Noor website managers to solitary confinement of Evin prison on 27th of Dey 1391 ( Jan 15, 2013).

Gonabadi dervishes entered the twentieth day of a hunger strike and currently, dizziness, excessive weight loss and gaunt and pale face are warning signs of their dire health condition.

It must be reminded that, these two prisoners of conscience are suffering from malnutrition due to poor prison conditions. Also, Mr. Moradi suffering from kidney pain for months and now suffering from internal bleeding. Their families have expressed their growing concern over their health risk and said that if anything happens to jaild Gonabadi dervishes who are behind bars in Adel Abad and Evin prisons, the authorities will be responsible for that.

The families have warned to break their silence about lack of timely care and treatment of two dervishes particularly, Saleh Moradi.

These two dervishes have been confined in Shiraz’s Adel Abad prison for more than 16 months on charges of “Propaganda against the regime”, “Acting against national security”, “Deviant group (Majzooban Noor) membership” and “Interviews with foreign media, Radio Farda”, but they have not yet received a definitive sentence till now. It seems that, after 16 months, their case is under investigation in Shiraz’s Revolutionary Court.
