Yesterday on 21 Farvardin 1392 (April 10, 2013), Gonabadi Dervish hunger strikers, Saleh Moradi and Kasra Nouri were forcibly taken again to the prison infirmary by security forces.
According to Majzooban Noor, Dervishes have been keeping under pressure in order to end their hunger strike.
Saleh Moradi and Kasra Nouri who are on 86th day of their hunger strike while their physical conditions have severely degenerated, were transferred to Shiraz’s Adel Abad prison infirmary with force and pressure and were force-fed by intravenous serum injections in order to keep them alive just under force by infusions and with no effort to fulfill their simple demands.
Two Dervishes have repeatedly said to their close family members that they will continue their hunger strike as long as their demands are not met.
It should be noted that, in recent days more than a dozen prison guards and prison officials’ correspondents, moment by moment, try to control their activities to give information to security prison.
Close family members of the two Dervishes, reported that their existing health conditions have been exacerbated due to their prolonged hunger strike and their health has deteriorated. Currently they are suffering with vision loss, kidney failure, bowel adhesion in addition to weakness, weight loss and dizziness and the appearance of these symptoms are warning signs of their dire health condition and indicate that they are facing life-threatening health complications!
Each of them have lost more than 35 kg due to extreme weakness collapsed for several times. Under their eyes and fingernails have gone severely bruised and can not stand on their feet but they still insist on their demands and don’t want to give up. Dervish hunger strikers required prison officials to transfer back their dervishes lawyers to the general ward of Evin and called attention to their poor health status but unfortunately their simple request has not been answered yet.
It seems that the Ministry of Information, by using various methods such as putting pressure on jailed Dervishes and their families, taking action to facilitate these two hunger strikers’ release, tried to force the strikers to give up except to meet their simple demands!
This such measures by the security forces indicate that, authorities have fear of incident happening for two Dervishes.
